3D Gyrokinetic Plasma Turbulence Simulations
Purpose of this website is to provide information about the theoretical investigation of micro-turbulence in 3D magnetic fusion configurations at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (Greifswald, Germany). The project mainly involves petascale numerical simulations of gyrokinetic turbulence, using the massively-parallel Eulerian nonlinear gyrokinetic solver GENE, and the optimization of magnetic geometry for the control of turbulence, employing the STELLOPT code. Other topics of interest include turbulence modeling and statistics particularly for stellarator configurations, in collaboration with universities and research institutes worldwide.
